Crumbling Bridges (View Video)
In both human and economic costs the collapse of the I-40 bridge near Webbers Falls ranks as one of the worst river disasters in Oklahoma history. Yet many argue that the bridge could have withstood the impact had it been built in accordance with modern structural standards. Oklahoma bridges are aging, in fact, nearly a quarter of all the bridges in Oklahoma were built in the 1930s. With weight limits, that at best, limit commerce and at worst can be dangerous.

Math Motivation (View Video)
A recent study says many of our children are ill prepared for the high paying, yet demanding jobs in the workforce they will soon enter. According to Federal Reserve chairman, Alan Greenspan, over the next fifteen years, at least three point three million jobs will move to Asia at a cost that could easily hit one hundred and thirty-six billion dollars in lost wages. To stem this flow of jobs overseas, work is underway in our state to include mathematical education in curriculum not normally associated with decimals and fractions. See how Oklahoma Agricultural Education is putting the motivation back in mathematics.
