Rob: President Franklin Delano Roosevelt once said, “We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.” Preparing for the future is tricky business nowadays. It’s now been a decade since an e-mail started to circulate giving advice to new graduates on everything from the value of wearing sunscreen to being nice to their siblings. But what really struck with me with this e-mail was a line I have found so true. In it, the author said not to worry about the future, because worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be those things that never crossed your worried mind, the kind that blindside you at four pm on some idle Tuesday, making change the only real constant in all our worlds. I’m Rob McClendon. Thanks for watching. See you soon.
